Welcoming our precious part 2

10.12.13: The Verdict
So we went to see Dr Seri in the morning
Her first remark upon seeing me
"kenapa mummy nampak monyok je ni??"
Haha doc.. you know better
She also noticed my puffiness on the face and swelling feet and difficulty to even walk.plus the big belly
And she was shocked to see my weight this time.whopped to 73kg!! (Faint. how i am going to shed those fat off)
Second shock was when she saw the baby's estimated weight: 3.7kg
To the extent that she said there could be some error haha
Anyway..today's appointment is for VE..and according to her I'm already dilating 2cm (record: as at 9.30 am)
Baby's head already inlet (hope I get the term right)
And she showed me the tinged of blood
And I scored nicely for induce of labor tonight
She gave us option to admit right away in the morning with permission to leave ward at own risk because the wards are expected to be fully booked by night
So many mommies are choosing to be induced tonight because of the so called beautiful date tomorrow 11.12.13
Well for us that's not the case. My due date IS actually tomorrow and we don't want Dr Seri to miss my delivery as she will be on leave on the 14th
After seeing her we went to see our room
Lucky that this time we got a room with klcc view :)
Then we settled everything at admission and went back home

3.30 pm : bloody show when I was in shower. I know it sounds funny but i feel so proud to experience it haha
It's like I'm progressing for a normal labor and not as previous experience

8pm:
Return to ward.Had dinner with hubs, hannan and ma in the room. Nurse came in giving me hosp attire and informed that they need to do CTG in half an hour because it's going to be a busy night shift for them
Nurse came to do CTG at 8.30pm. Already having 5-7 mins mild contractions
Hubs family also came later to wish us well

10pm:
Nurse came in and did VE
I was already dilating 3cm! So she said there's no need to induce as I'm progressing naturally alhamdulillah..
And then I had stronger contractions every 5-7 mins through out night

11.12.13 :The Day She Came
Hannan woke up around 4am demanding some biscuits
So we were entertaining her when I had another contraction with leakage at 4.20am
It's water leakage with blood stains. lots of it
So we called in the nurse, she did VE and informed I'm dilated 4-5 cm
After I changed to new clothes, she inserted enema in the form of bottled clear liquid back there and within mins I'm purging everything out
Then I was ushered to the labor room at 4.45am
At 5 mins contractions around 6.45am I requested for epidural cos I worry that I might drain out my energy during labor
Doc Ghazaimie came around 7.30am to put in the epi
Really need to note here that he's a funny chirpy guy!
Making jokes about contractions kinda light up the room a bit
Anyway, he had difficulty to find the correct spots and I felt pain when he inserted the epi
Pain of the needle and the medication itself
Nobody told me it's going to hurt that bad.
It felt like strong current. True as what Doc Ghazaimie described. I cried a bit while coping with stronger contractions that came
After the whole process, he pat me on the leg and wished good luck for the delivery
After 5 mins I didn't feel the contractions any longer. Managed to have rest
I can hear havoc outside my labor room as the nurses are all busy running here and there handling so many cases

10.20 am
Felt pressure down the pelvic area.feeling the urge to push
Called the staff nurse and she did VE.She said I'm already dilating 9.5cm
So she immediately prepared the room and informed Dr Seri right away, who was still in the OT
I told my concern to staff nurse that this is my first attempt of normal delivery so I don't know much about pushing in labor
She showed me the right breathing techniques and positions using the "mechanical" bed

Dr Seri came in around 11.25am and she and the 2 staff nurse cheered and coached me through out the labor process
After few pushes, baby z was finally born
Dr Seri put her, still covered with blood, on my chest and I got to hold her hands
I cried. The feelings were just overwhelming

11.12.13
11.38 am.
3.71kg.
Who would have thought I could do it. Even hubs didn't have the confidence. But he said I proved him wrong

She's so chubby. But a bit blue. And was not crying much. The nurse tried sucking out her fluids but still not much improvement. She seemed to have breathing difficulty. Then they took her away
At this point of time, baby z is being observed in the NICU.
Dr Padma said it may be due to excess of fluid in her lungs or infection.  But assured us that it's normal
Hang in there baby z.. stay strong.. ummi and daddy and sis hannan love you
Welcome to the family sayang..
