To remind the heart and not the mind

I've been longing to blog But over the past year, every time I wanted to write and publish, I would ask myself "why am I writing this? Why do I need to tell people this?" I was kinda having my own internal conflict plus there were so many stories last year about the pedophiles and the viral story about the chat groups that share pictures of small children among them that it made me scared So..why am i writing here again? Because..I recently made a self reflection and listed some of the reasons why I wanted to write at first: 1. Peer pressure (blogging was really popular back then and somebody suggested that I do it) 2. To earn extra income from Nuffnang (that somebody told me about this too) but hahahahahah clearly am not getting anything so far 3. I want to polish my writing skills (this is true) 4. I want to share. Somehow some people found my blog and email me personally how my writings /personal experience relate to them and some of them benefited from my r...

10 ways to avoid marrying the wrong person

There is a right way and a wrong way to get to know someone for marriage.  The wrong way is to get caught up in the excitement and nuance of a budding relationship and in the process completely forget to ask the critical questions that help determine compatibility.  One of the biggest mistakes that many young Muslims make is rushing into marriage without properly and  thoroughly  getting to know someone.  A common myth is that the duration of a courtship is an accurate enough measure of how compatible two people are.  The logic follows that the longer you speak with someone, the better you will know them.  The problem with that premise is that no consideration is given to  how  that time is spent. Increasingly, young Muslim couples are engaging in “halal dating,” which is basically socializing with each other in the company of friends and/or family. This includes going out to dinner, watching a movie, playing some sport or other leisure acti...

"what type of exposure are you looking into when the courses offered are only 9-12 months term?" "what's the difference between 1997-98 financial crisis with current euro crisis and why isn't malaysia affected as much as during the 1997-98 crisis?" "what do you plan to do on your dissertation?" still thinking whether my answers were well received by the panels still thinking "arghh..i should have said it this way or that way..it would've sound more concrete bla bla bla.." the panels seem to be more interested with the guy next to me..i think they spent 40 minutes questioning and debating on his research paper alone.. ...

He who helps

"Cukuplah Allah menjadi Penolong kami dan Allah adalah sebaik-baik Pelindung" (Ali 'Imran:173) Nabi saw bersabda: "Iman terbahagi kepada dua. Separuh dalam sabar dan separuh dalam syukur" (HR Al-Baihaqi- source )

a short note for Friday

(al-Nuur: 22)

pisah

I was having a chit chat with my great granma and she suddenly said "kak long, kahwin ni banyak cubaan...kau jangan sesekali mintak cerai ya?!" I was stunned "kenapa nyang..?" "tak baik..kau kena banyak-banyak sabar.." "kalau hati kita sakit?kalau dia buat jahat?" "takpe..sabar banyak-banyak..jangan menyesal.." and she looked away I was completely shocked why she suddenly raised that subject I guess she was speaking through her own experience Dan apabila kamu menceraikan isteri-isteri (kamu) kemudian mereka (hampir) habis tempoh idahnya maka bolehlah kamu pegang mereka (rujuk) dengan cara yang baik atau lepaskan mereka dengan cara yang baik.

economics in everyday life

Image
having economics background, i understand how complex and difficult some terms and jargons in economic textbooks. and I have not gone into the graphs and curves yet. (yup my marks were not that great) sometimes when hubs asked me questions on economics and finance, i tried so hard to make him understand but in the end he just made this blur look and we both went silent everytime it's either because i'm not good at explanation or i ,too, did not fully understand (sorry dear!) and now, I'm glad there's someone who are kind enough to explain all those in non-economist language check the videos and articles at kopitiamekonomi.com it helps!! just to share links to some of the articles and videos: http://kopitiamekonomi.com/read/talking-national-accounts-gdp-gni-and-what-they-really-mean/
