parents in-laws: dos and don'ts
haahh...
just came back from our 4-day south trip.
was longing to write so much things because of so much things happened in the past few days..
but i guess i'll start with this one first.
you know, no matter how much you like or love daughter/son in-laws, PLEASE, PLEASE don't do the followings:
1- don't give them surprise visits when they least expect it.
there are days that your children want to be all lazy and just cuddle in the bed..they are not in the mood to dress nicely or kemas the house (especially the kitchen)
2-don't check out their refrigerator to see what's there for cooking, unless they requested you to.
because kitchen is actually a private place and it's about their personal touch
3-don't decorate their home.
it is very unlikely that you'll have the same taste as your son or daughter in-law. let them decorate their own space. don't say things like "sofa tu letak la kat sini" or "i think that table is better here" or buy them furnitures that totally doesn't fit in their theme.
4. don't comment or call your daughter/son-in law fatty, or ask them to put on a diet.
it hurts no matter what your intention is.after all your daughter/son accepts them for what they are. the comments should come from their husband/wife.
5. don't hang around at their cribs every weekends.
for the same reason as #1 above
