have you left something?
I've been thinking really hard about this for the past 3 weeks
Everytime I look at my baby, I wonder, what will happen to her if I'm not around?
Who will take care of her?
How are they going to take care of her?
I don't know, that feeling sort of overwhelmes me
It made me really worried
Because you'll never know what will happen the next second
I'm not rich, I don't have parcels of lands or equity shares or thousands of ringgits in bank account or jewelleries in safe box to leave to Hannan
I don't even have a safe box!
Have you ever thought about it?
Maybe it's about being a mother
Or maybe God is just giving me some signs
And then I was talking to hubs, that we are so lucky being covered under his employee benefit (alhamdulillah)
but there's no guarantee that he will forever stay in his current unit for us to continue being covered under his EB
So I started browsing through, searching for info and making comparison and doing some mini research
And I sort of startled when I discovered
ING Public Takaful Ehsan
NOPE, THIS IS NOT A SPONSORED POST
Nor I'm a newly appointed agent
I just think that I should share here
I've known ING for employee benefit since I was in RHB back in 2005
hassle free - you just show the ING medical card to the panel clinic and get treatment and off you go
no payment whatsoever is needed
and then when hubs joined his current department last year, again, I say hello to ING employee benefit whereby I should say that I'm really, really, realllllyy good in using the facilities given
So ING sort of won my heart but back then ING still have not offered any takaful products
until recently
when they have launched their Takaful Salam product through ING collaboration with Public Bank and Public Islamic Bank (60:20:20)
Bear in mind that I had few agents from Pru*** and Gr*** already approached me to sell their takaful products and did follow up calls and everything
but I was so determined and convinced with what ING had to offer
So I made a call to ING and request for appointment (believe me, you don't find other people calling up insurance company for appointment. Usually it's the other way round)
Why I chose this product?
Well, of course you have to do a lot of comparisons and some of the things that you should consider:
and finally
after much deliberation and series of debate and convincing made to hubs
yesterday I signed up for Takaful Salam plan with some attacheable riders
1- I get to leave something for Hannan should anything happen to me
2-Better access to medical treatment (hopefully) - and hopefully can live longer to see Hannan grow up
So friends
Have you left something for your child?

- pre-natal check ups
- c-section + mother and baby admission to ward
- post natal check up
- Hannan's appointment + vaccination
- ENT clinic appointments
- plus the visits to the regular panel clinic

Well, of course you have to do a lot of comparisons and some of the things that you should consider:
- there are a lot of takaful operators out there..how do you decide among them? minus the ones that offer other banking products..pick the name that only reminds you of "takaful/insurance". once you sort out those, it'll be easier for you as they are not that many..
- what's your objective? for your family, for yourself?
- how much are you willing to put aside for your insurance
- duration of coverage
- sum covered - determined by your monthly contribution and attachable rider(s)
- death benefit - how much will your family get if death occurs
- medical contribution -saving up for treatment upon diagnose of critical illnesses
- savings contribution - if you choose to have some returns from your insurance then you would want to consider this. but bear in mind insurance is not investment product per se and the objective is a whole lot different so don't expect much return from this.
